Captured on video: Hypnotizing 'tornado' of fish swirls off Japanese island

A scuba diver captured a mesmerizing vortex of fish that had formed off Aguni Island in Japan’s Okinawa prefecture.

Footage captured by Makoto Shigehara shows a swirling school of bigeye trevallies. In an Instagram post, Shigehara said the "tornado" of fish that he saw was a "masterpiece."

According to Fishing World, the bigeye trevally are found throughout large portions of tropical Indo-Pacific waters.

'Clean the ice and snow off your vehicle': Video shows flying ice chunk smash driver's windshield

WELLFLEET, Mass. -- A flying chunk of ice smashed a driver's windshield as they were traveling through Wellfleet, Massachusetts, on Sunday, February 27.

This video posted by Dean Weymouth, who operates Capeway Towing, shows the ice hitting one of the company's vehicles.

The driver received a few cuts from the broken windshield, according to a post by Capeway Towing, but was otherwise unharmed.

Drone footage shows flamingo flock gathering in Kazakhstan lake

A flock of flamingos was spotted on Lake Karakol near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on November 14, moving in harmony during their migration south.

Drone footage shot by Azamat Sarsenbayev shows the mass of pink birds floating and flying near the lake’s surface.

Lions romp in snowfall at Colorado's Denver Zoo

Lions at Denver Zoo in Colorado enjoyed some playtime in the snow on March 15 after more than a foot of accumulation fell Monday and Tuesday.

Shorebirds watch as alligators wrestle on South Florida golf course

Bystanders for a waterside gator fight included several large birds at a golf course in South Florida this week.

Mary Lukas Jurkowski took video footage October 27 of the two alligators as they snapped and wrestled alongside a pond at Rotonda Golf and Country Club.

On the other side, two sandhill cranes and a white ibis looked on, occasionally offering a 'squawk' of acknowledgment.

Smoke plume from Cameron Peak Fire visible for miles in Loveland, Colorado

Smoke from the Cameron Peak Fire obscured the sky in parts of northern Colorado as high winds from a cold front in the area fanned the flames on October 14, reports said.

The Cameron Peak fire has been burning since August 13 and spans 135,556 acres. Officials said it was 56% contained as of Wednesday, October 14.

A turkey did some peacocking near Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts, intently checking out its reflection in a window.

Wild turkeys have been regularly seen in the area since the 1970s, according to the Harvard Gazette, when biologists trapped and relocated 37 birds from New York to Massachusetts in a repopulation effort.

'Winter Wonderland': Picturesque snowfall covers woods in Great Smoky Mountains

TOWNSEND, Tenn. -- Snowfall in the Great Smoky Mountains made for a picturesque drive through a "winter wonderland" in Townsend, Tennessee, on December 1.
